Very nice ryokan with very friendly people. The baths are also interesting, private ones and one built inside a cave.

Size :    
Suitable size and variety of baths, the bath inside the cave is quite interesting.

View :     
View over the valley, no cable, no road, just the nature.

Area :    
If you like easy trekking, this place is for you. You can follow the track of the old railway along the river, about 8 km, and enjoy the nature without any cable, car or anything else.

Comment

This onsen is situated within one hour from Kobe by train, the price is about 10'000 for one night stay. In Takedao onsen you will also find 2 other ryokan. What is really the most interesting in this place, is the abandoned rail tracks. Enjoy the walks through the old railway tunnels is quite fun as if like me you forgot to bring a torch light with you.
