Usually the luggage takes 3 days to Tokyo. It is pretty fast. Most of visitors send their stuff back like this, so it is really easy.

For the accomodation, not having a reservation is certainly a risk. I can't tell you if you will have to sleep on a beach at the end or not...

hm... I'll see what I can do, I'll try to make reservations once I know if I can cross the island or not... i.e. tomorrow morning... I'm taking the ferry to Ishigaki tonight and I'll get there tomorrow morning...then I'll check with the Tourism info Centre... Might end up sleeping under a tree or something in Ohara... hehe... is it a crime around here?
