Hello everyone!
Just join the forum. My name is Eugene, I'm living in Khabarovsk, Russia. It is pretty close to Japan - so we have a great opportunity for travel to this beautifull country.

We're planning a two week trip beginning Sept. 14, 2012.

Tokyo, one week, then 9/19 rent a car to drive to Seki City/ Gifu, sword making.
To-ji Temple flea market on 9/21 and Miho Museum 9/22.
Explore Kyoto till 9/26, flight to Los Angeles from Osaka on 9/27.

Having a car will allow us to travel off the beaten path.
I know it will be expensive but with 3 persons + luggage, it'll be easier to see the country side.
Many years ago, we drove from Hiroshima back to Tokyo.

Looking for a ryokan between Gifu and Tokyo for the evening of 9/20.

Any recommendations for lodging in Kyoto with parking less than $200 a night?

Thanks,

Douglas Lee

Hi,
I live in Minamiboso at the southern tip of Chiba, near Tateyama, Shirahama and Chikura. I moved here in 2011 so I am interested in discovering and learning about new restaurants and activities in this area.

Hi everyone ...

Probably I'm the first member from the Bahamas.

We are planning a trio in Mid May which will include a 9 day cruise around Japan on the Sun Princess ex Yokohama to Nagoya, Kobe, Matsuyama, a stop in Pusan, So Korea, then Kagoshima, Bepou and back to Yokohama. Between Kobe and Pusan we cruise the Inland Sea.

We are excited, also because we will be visiting a nephew who lives and works in Minato-ku.

I am a bit of a linguist and speak Spanish and Italian as well as un peu de français (je ne practique assez) and a crash course in Japanese is underway.

My wife (originally from Iowa, USA) and I have lived and traveled extensively in the US, Latin America and frequently visited the UK, Spain, Italy & Switzerland. This will be our first trip to Japan and are excited to receive any warnings or suggestions!

Hello everyone, my name is Ron and I live in New York City. My partner and I are going to Japan in late April/early May of 2014. We feel we need to see Tokyo, and because I am a garden designer, I would like to see Kyoto. We are only in Japan for 11 days, and my tentative plans are to spend 5 nights in Tokyo, 3 nights in Kyoto and 3 nights in a beautiful, off beat place, perhaps somewhere in the southern islands, but I'm open to suggestions. It will be our first trip to Japan. Also, after I purchased my tickets, we realized we will be there during Golden Week. Any suggestions for beautiful places in any of these destinations or any advice on travel would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!
I am from New Zealand and travelling by working on farms. I am now in India and will come to Japan in 2 weeks. I want to try a Capsule Hotel, a Manga Kissen cafe, and some guesthouses. I am a mother of 2 children who grew up with Pokemon, Digimon and Manga, so I am also now a big fan!
I also love Japanese food, and have some lovely Japanese friends in New Zealand.
cheers,
Ursula.
